Annual Beer Festival
and Music Weekend
The first week of September is the normal
time (Check for dates) for our Real Ale and Music Festival. Come and enjoy
a wide selection of real ales listening to the live music in our marquee.
Great food from the Bar-B-Q and absolutely no admission charges - Friday
Evening to Sunday Lunchtime.
Shackerstone Railway Museum
and Battlefield Line
The nearby Battlefield Line Steam Railway
is a great favourite with all ages. Jump aboard a steam train that will
take you to Shenton. You will follow the Ashby Canal for a good part of
your journey, passing through coutryside and alongside small villages and
farms. At Shenton you may return or explore the Bosworth Battlefield
Country Park.
Shackerstone Family Festival
With
a mix of funfair, stalls and attractions including working narrowboats,
vintage cars and traction engines the Festival is a popular attraction in
the first week of September. Unfortunately 2008 say its cancellation as
the weather had made the showground unusable.

Located in the middle of a network of footpaths that,
together with the Ashby Canal towpath make this great walking country and
where better to finish the days walk than at the Rising
Sun
